If you’ve ever stopped by the Ace Hotel during the day, you’ve been greeted by a plurality of techies, creatives, cosmopolitan tourists and artists – all on laptops and having coffee meetings. Since it opened, Ace Hotel’s lobby has been one of the hotbeds for creative energy in the NoMad neighborhood.
Gothamist recently highlighted the “Best Coffee Shop Offices” in NYC and it is no surprise that Ace Hotel’s lobby was named to the list. According to Gothamist, which surveyed coffee shops in all five boroughs:
“This place gets crowded, but you’ll be freelancing in style in the lobby bar’s sexy, spacious lounge. Enjoy free wifi, copious outlets, noms, and the freedom to choose between coffee or alcohol as you work. Stumptown Coffee, located near the entrance, is a great backup if you can’t score a spot at the communal work table or one of the sofas.”
If you’re working later in the day, you can close up your laptop and stick around for one of the free nightly cultural happenings, during which some of the hottest DJ’s and musicians in NYC stop by to spin on the Ace Hotel’s decks. Be sure to check our regularly updated calendar, where we often feature the Ace’s DJ residencies, code hackathons, art shows, and more.
