Barstool Sports Doubles NoMad Headquarters Office Space
At experiencenomad.com, we continually hear stories of companies starting up in NoMad and seeing impressive growth in a short time. Last year, NoMad welcomed yet another upstart technology and media company to the neighborhood when Barstool Sports moved its headquarters from Boston into 15 West 27th Street. Only one year later, the company is doubling the size of its headquarters in the same building.
While the name brands in sports media continue to be ESPN, Sports Illustrated and the major broadcasters, the Internet has allowed for various upstarts to carve out new niches in the market. Barstool Sports, with a laid back, youthful editorial style and the success of the #saturdaysarefortheboys meme, has solidified itself as a real player in the new media world.
While the company initially moved into a 5,909 square foot space, the new lease doubles the square footage to 11,800 square feet, as reported by Commercial Observer. Barstool Sports will occupy the entire second floor of the building, which is owned and managed by The Kaufman Organization. Move-in is expected in March.
“We are excited that Barstool Sports is continuing to grow at [15 West 27th Street], as they are the ideal tenant for our loft-style spaces and bring a youthful and fun vibe to the building,” The Kaufman Organization’s Michael Heaner told Commercial Observer in a prepared statement.
We congratulate Barstool on its expansion and are sure that this is only the beginning of the company’s success in NoMad.
