Anna Kaiser Brings The AKT In Motion Fitness Revolution to NoMad

Anna Kaiser brings her akt in motion fitness studio to NoMad

The influx of new residents and workers in NoMad has created a corresponding demand for new fitness options to keep our community members in shape.

One of the latest fitness openings is AKT In Motion at 1182 Broadway. This it the fourth studio that CEO Anna Kaiser has opened since she launched AKT In Motion on the Upper East Side in 2013.

Before she opened her first location, Kaiser realized that most fitness plans and studios fail because of the boredom of following the same fitness track and routine over and over again. She resolved to hire trainers who had experience in everything from professional dance to kinesiology and Pilates. AKT In Motion workouts are built on ten-minute segments, combining strength training, yoga and dance, so there is no threat of monotony.

“Our AKT studio in NoMad is in the perfect location. Most of my clients either work in the area or live close by,” Kaiser shared with us. “The subway makes the location even more convenient for anyone to drop in for class. The subways are only few stops from Times Square, Union Square and great shopping.”

Kaiser is particularly fond of the neighborhood cuisine and already has a few favorite restaurants. “There are also so many great places to eat—as close as right downstairs or within a few blocks from the studio: Digg Inn, Sweetgreen and Inday are definitely some of my go-to’s.”

AKT In Motion has not lacked media attention. Among the plethora of publications and television shows that have covered Kaiser’s studio are The New York Times, Cosmopolitan, Good Morning America, Health and US Weekly. Even though Kaiser attracts celebrity clients like Kelly Ripa, Shakira, Sarah Jessica Parker and Naomi Watts, everyday New Yorkers are very much welcome and made to feel comfortable.

AKT In Motion prides itself on its lack of fads or pretense, which is another reason why NoMad is such a good match. “I like how low-key the neighborhood is,” Kaiser says. “I’m so happy with the decision to open [my] AKT studio in NoMad.”
