2015 Big Apple Barbecue Block Party Brings Barbecue to Madison Square Park

Country's best barbecue plus performances by Nikki Lane, the Shook Twins and Whiskey Shivers

It’s already June, which means that the 2015 Big Apple Barbecue Block Party is just around the corner. Starting June 13th, Madison Square Park will host a full weekend of the best barbecue that the country has to offer.

Pitmasters from the South, Midwest and New York City will be firing up their grills, including NoMad’s own Jean-Paul Bourgeois from Blue Smoke and Charles Grund Jr. from Hill Country Barbecue. Grab a plate of pulled pork, lamb brisket, or Texas beef ribs, and enjoy it all sprawled out on the lawn. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and coolers to make themselves at home in the park.

Since no block party would be complete without music, you’ll be rocked all weekend long by bands such as Nikki Lane, Shook Twins and Whiskey Shivers.

If wandering and sampling the pitmasters’ wares isn’t enough for you, you can get BigPiggin’ VIP access and personally meet the chefs. You’ll have heaping plates of barbecue brought straight to you, or you can snack on an open buffet of Southern-inspired cooking, beer, wine and specialty cocktails. And the whole time, you’ll be relaxing in a shaded lounge with picnic seating and air-conditioned bathrooms.

Check out the Big Apple Barbecue Block Party website for a full menu and performance schedule, and get ready for the annual block party that’s like no other.
