Begun nearby in a small garment district office with company-naming “grey” walls, Grey advertising moved its headquarters to NoMad in 2009, after spending 45 years at 777 Third Avenue in Midtown. Today the agency has more than 1,000 employees and operates out of 432 offices in 96 countries and 154 cities.
Grey advertising has been “Famously Effective Since 1917” with clients such as Procter & Gamble, GlaxoSmithKline, Nokia, British American Tobacco, Diageo, Volkswagen, Novartis, Wyeth, Canon, DirecTV, and 3M, but 2013 year was a banner year for the agency.
In January, Grey was named to the list of “Top 10 Agencies” by Ad Age, taking the No. 3 spot.
Then in June at the Cannes Lions Film Festival, the agency won a total of 36 Lions — the largest number the agency has ever won:
- 1 Black Creative Effectiveness Lion
